Entourage Series Finale.

Sunday night the HBO series Entourage ended. There has been a lot of commentary about "everything working out in the end for everyone except the audience" Viewers are feeling cheated by having everything wrap up in 30 minutes. Well, it actually took two episodes to wrap everything up, so here's the breakdown that made the happy ending of a series about Hollywood happy endings.

Ari (Jeremy Piven) quits his job and his family troubles resolve for him. Happy ending for Ari.

Vince (Adrian Grenier) uses his charm and money to get Eric (Kevin Connolly) and Sloan (Emmannuelle Chriqui) back together with a baby on the way. Happy ending for Erick.

In the previous episode Vince explains to Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) he did not sell their shares of a vodka company that goes public. Thus transforming Turtle into an overnight millionaire. Happy ending for Turtle.

Also in the previous episode, Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) gets his cartoon show reinstated and gets the starring role in TV movie Vince helped write. This was all accomplished with the help of Vince's charm and of course, money. Happy ending for Drama.

And then there is Vince. His storyline has him getting married to a gorgeous and intelligent journalist Sophia (Alice Eve). Many viewers are baffled that Vince's character could settle down so quickly, and that this intelligent woman would actually fall for him so fast. Let's examine this for a moment.

We do have to take the writer's word that Vince falls in love with her basically at first sight. I don't see this as to big a stretch, she's beautiful, smart, and according to Vince the sex was that good. Why would Sophia fall so fast for Vince? Um, good looking movie star, rich, uses his personal fortune to help out everyone close to him. Only real strikes against him are his recent drug addiction and sexual history, which did include at least one porn star. So maybe her character is liberal enough to see past those flaws or conservative enough to accept it. He is a rich and charming movie star after all. Either way, Vince has found the woman of his dreams and, as always, helped make all his friends dreams come true. Happy ending for Vince.

As for the audience, I don't see why they should feel cheated. This was the ultimate show about nothing. Each season followed the same storyline. Vince wants to do a movie, there are obstacles that prevent this from happening. He either gets the movie or finds a better movie to star in. Everything always works out. Only in Season 7's cliffhanger ending does it not when he gets arrested on drug charges. We had to wait for Season 8's premier to reveal it all worked out again. It always does for these characters. So why shouldn't it in the finale. I mean Hollywood is all about happy endings. How could you not expect this series to have a happy ending.

And for the audience members who still feel cheated and want more. There is a movie in the works, just don't be too surprised when it ends with a Happy Ending!
